A New Giving Circle at Stonewall
We at Stonewall are excited to announce the launch of a new fund and welcome some new community members! Kavod: A Gay Men’s Giving Circle Initiative seeks “to make impact in our community guided by Jewish values. This giving circle will seek to learn and understand the stories of those in and of communities in need and decide as a collective group where to allocate funds to support, build up, and honor those around [them].” While the fund centers the participation of gay Jewish men, it is open to all members of Stonewall’s community. Members will meet a few times a year for the purpose of making grants.
Wayne Green, founder of the circle, told us why he chose to start this fund: “This giving circle is grounded in the foundation of the Jewish value Kavod, meaning honor and respect. I believe in giving back to community, and what better way than to do this with greater impact and in an environment that offers connection and shared understanding of values based and responsible giving.”
To make meaningful impact this year, joining the giving circle requires a donation of $180. To learn more, or to join, visit stonewallfoundation.org/kavod.
