Funding Opportunities and Financial Resources

  • The New York Women’s Foundation COVID-19 Response & Recovery Fund invites current and former grantees of the NYWF to apply for a six month grant for up to $25,000 in general operating support or program-specific support.

  • The Brooklyn Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund provides immediate response grants of up to $10,000 to Brooklyn nonprofits. Learn more about their priority areas and apply here.

  • Robin Hood Foundation is offering immediate emergency response grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofits in New York City. Learn more and start an application here.

  • Hosted by the NY Community Trust, the NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund will give grants and loans to NYC-based nonprofits with priority given to nonprofits addressing essential healthcare and food insecurity as well as arts and culture.

  • Trinity Church Wall Street’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Grants provide one-time grants of up to $25,000 to NYC organizations working with communities that are disproportionately impacted by this pandemic, with a focus on homeless and/or justice-involved people.

  • NYC Business is offering Employee Retention Grants to businesses (including nonprofits) with 4 or fewer employees. Learn more here.

  • The Lawyers Alliance has compiled a list of government and regulatory resources here.

Advocacy

  • Center Action Network wants to ensure that federal relief packages include LGBT community centers. To learn more and send a letter to your representatives in Congress, click here.

  • Stonewall Community Foundation is one of over three hundred organizations that have signed this open letter to demand immediate, explicit action and commitments from city, state, and federal government leaders to support the nonprofit sector. Click here to read the list of demands and add your organizations’s name.

Other Resources

  • The NYC Unity Project, the city’s LGBTQ policy and programming initiative, has launched an LGBTQ COVID-19 Online Guide. The dynamic, mobile-accessible website has over 100 listings of LGBTQ+ affirming programs and services—both city and private/non-profit resources—that continue to be available during this stay-at-home period, both locally in-person and virtually.

  • The NYC Unity Project will hold a virtual town hall on Wednesday, June 10th from 12-1pm on LGBTQ health equity and healthcare access, with a particular emphasis on sharing city-led and funded services still available to LGBTQ communities. Register here.
