Past Capacity Building Grants – Varied Sizes

Audre Lorde Project ($7,000)
Training for Board and staff in budgeting, fiscal oversight and strategies for income generating programs.

Bronx Lesbian and Gay Health Resource Consortium ($10,000)
Creation of a three to five year strategic plan.

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center ($10,000)
Development consultants to transition the organization from its reliance on one special event to a balanced portfolio of individual donors, event sponsors and foundation support.

Greenwich Village Youth Council ($8,575)
Upgrades to agency computer network and phone system.

Latino Gay Men of New York ($10,000)
Hiring of first staff member.

Lavender Light Gospel Choir ($5,000)
A project to expand and diversify the board of directors.

MIX: The New York Lesbian and Gay Experimental Film Festival ($10,000)
Hiring of a part-time development coordinator.

New York Association of Gender Rights Advocacy ($10,000)
Hiring of a development coordinator.

NY Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project ($5,200)
Underwrite the requirements analysis phase of a project to create a new case management system.

SAGE ($10,000)
Purchase of new computer equipment, staff skills training and the development of fundraising materials.

Sylvia Rivera Legal Resource Program ($10,000)
Creation of a comprehensive development plan.

WOW Café Theater ($5,700)
Train membership to conduct an individual donor campaign to secure funds to purchase their performance space from the City.

Creation of a legal clinic at Queens Pride House to assist low-income, HIV-positive documented and undocumented immigrants.

Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy
Financial assistance for low income individuals and couples working through the challenges of parenting.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center
Integration of its information and referral system with the Center’s website.

Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force
Expansion of legal services to detainees.

Staten Island AIDS Task Force
Expansion of the SafeSpace youth program.
